Minergie: a calculation, not a badge

The standard requires calculated values, controlled ventilation and verified workmanship. We prepare the evidence and carry it to certificate.

Decide early

Minergie cannot be added at the end. The standard affects compactness, glazing areas, ventilation routing and the choice of heat source — all decisions taken at preliminary design. Starting the evidence during construction means paying for corrections.

Questions about Minergie

Is Minergie possible in an existing building?

Yes, with the variant intended for refurbishment. Feasibility depends on the envelope and on where ventilation can be routed.

What does the standard add to the cost?

It mostly moves cost: more in envelope and ventilation, less in plant and in operation. The pre-check gives the order of magnitude.

Is controlled ventilation mandatory?

In practice yes — the standard requires a controlled air change that cannot be evidenced with opening windows.
